Show the fairies that they’re welcome by installing some fairy doors in your garden (or home!)

Fairy Doors are a great way of converting anything in your home or garden into a fairy’s house. These beautiful miniatures brought to us by Vivid Arts are hand finished and made from high quality resin meaning they can hold up to the elements outdoors. Simply select the location for the fairies house, maybe in the side of a fetching rock or the stump of old tree. Once the door is in place it gives the feeling that there’s a tiny little home inside.

Green Arbour Fairy Door

This fairy door is ideal for placing at the foot of a tree, particularly between roots where it will be inconspicuous – except to you and the fairy who decides to move in.

The roots of trees are a great favourite with fairies – it means that their fairy house is snug and cosy, it is sheltered by the big strong tree from wind and rain whilst being hidden from unwelcome visitors and of course the tree provides shade when it’s too hot outdoors.

You may wish to add some acorn lanterns so that the fairies can see their way home at night, or some stepping stones up to the door so their delicate feet don’t get cold and wet. Natural materials like moss and leaf mould help disguise the entrance so it stays a secret fairy house.

Fairy Door Brick Burrow

The fairy who uses this door has taken over an existing burrow in the woodland. It used to be used by the rabbit family, but they had to move because of the Daddy’s work. So the burrow became vacant, and a fairy decided it would be absolutely ideal for her.

There was just one small problem – rabbits are generally a bit bigger than fairies, and so she had to brick up the edges so that the door would fit. She found some old bricks lying around, some bits of timber, and put together this lovely door and made this a wonderful entrance!

Fairy Door Washed Oak

Some fairies prefer to burrow out their own fairy house, so what they really need is a fairy door.

There are lots of doors to choose from, and this washed oak fairy door is one of our favourites. The fairy who lives behind this door this is clearly loves gardening, since she has such lovely plants growing around her doorway.

Use on a tree trunk, the side of a pot, a skirting board – or in fact, just about anywhere you think the fairy would like to burrow out a fairy house.

Fairy Garden Window

This window matches the green arbour fairy door but can be used for any fairy house that needs an extra window.  It’s particularly important for fairies who’ve burrowed out their house from a tree, or perhaps a log.  Since fairies often like to burrow in places that don’t have natural light, so there’s plenty demand for windows!

For the fairy with the brick burrow door, this window would be very welcome since she moved into a burrow that had belonged to a rabbit family and there were no windows!
